Lexington Baptist Church Adult Choir Presents “Homeland”
on Sunday, July 4, 2010

The community is invited to join Lexington Baptist Church on Sunday, July 4, as they present their annual Celebration of Freedom services at 9:00 & 10:15 a.m. in observance of Independence Day. At each service, the Lexington Baptist Church choir will present “Homeland”, a musical by Randy Vader and Jay Rouse. All performances will be held in the Lexington Baptist Church Worship Center located at 308 East Main Street, Lexington, SC.

“Homeland” is a musical which celebrates our heritage as Americans in this beautiful land that we call our homeland. This is the place where we pledge the same flag, protect and defend the same Constitution, breathe the same air, cherish the future of our children, and stand constant vigil to defend the rights that compelled our founders to form a more perfect Union. This is the place our ancestors fought for, and also the place where people still come to be a part of the greatest experiment in freedom in human history.

Songs in the musical include The Star-Spangled Banner; This Land is Your Land; Salute to the States (America the Beautiful); Livin’ in the Homeland; Salute to the Armed Forces; Count the Cost (To See That Banner Wave); Let Justice Roll On; Doxology; We Shall Overcome; Lean On Me; We the People; and Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Round Hill Baptist will have 3rd Saturday Night GOSPEL SINGS starting March 20. Groups from around the midlands area will present a variety of musical styles each 3rd Saturday night. Concerts begin at 7:00 pm and conclude by 9:00 pm and will be held at Round Hill Baptist Church, 230 Persimmon Lane, Lexington. Admission is free and a love offering will be received. Lexington Baptist Church Children’s Ministry Offering Grab It & Go Summer Day Camp for Children in July

Grab It & Go is a great camp for kids in grades 1 - 6 (completed) held right here in Lexington at Pleasant Hill Middle School on Rawl Road. We've got a great week of fun planned with activities for every age and every interest. Camp days will include daily worship and celebration, different activities and daily challenges ... and lots of fun too!

Activities offered include sports with Crossover Athletlics, gymnastics with Kelly’s Gymnastics, Mad Science (taught by Mr. Russell Unthink), cooking with Young Chef’s Academy, karate (taught by Jason Alderman with Fortress Martial Arts), drama, digital photography, Make It & Take It crafts, and so much more!! Children will choose five tracks from a total of eighteen possible activities. Each child will be assigned to at least three of the five chosen. Whatever your child’s interest, there is a track for them.

Sponsored by Lexington Baptist Church Children's Ministries, Grab It & Go is not just a camp where kids can have fun and explore new activities. It's a camp where they will learn how much God really loves them, so much that He sacrificed His only Son for each and every one of them!
Not only will they learn how much He loves them... they'll also learn that they can take the Good News of His Love with them as they "Grab It & Go" out into the world.
