Lexington Baptist Church will present “The Passover”, a musical/dramatic presentation on Saturday, March 27, and Sunday, March 28, at 5:00 p.m. in their Worship Center located at 308 East Main Street, Lexington. All performances are free and open to the community. Presented by the Music and Drama Ministries, “The Passover” is a music and worship journey about the first Passover (3,500 years ago), our Lord’s last Passover Supper (2,000 years ago), and the Wedding Feast of the Passover Lamb to come!
Each performance will be followed by the observance of a Passover Seder. After each performance, the Seder will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Lexington Baptist Fellowship Hall located on the second floor of the Children’s Ministries Building at the corner of Creps and East Butler Street, Lexington. The cost for the dinner is $5.00 per person and tickets are available for purchase in the Main Church Office. Seating is limited.
The Seder includes the traditional elements as well as dinner with a choice of entrée. Families are encouraged to participate in the Seder together. However, children’s activities (including dinner) are planned for children ages 5 to 7. Childcare is available for birth through age 4. Reservations are required for children’s activities and childcare, and reservations must be made at ticket purchase.
The Passover Seder will be led by Messianic Pastor Manny Aviles and will include the traditional elements of the Passover Seder which has been observed for over 3,000 years. The Seder is a ritual feast observed at the beginning of the holiday of Passover, celebrating God’s salvation of the Jews from Egypt. The feast and holiday were begun in obedience to God’s command, “And you shall tell it to your son on that day, saying, ‘Because of what this God did for me when He took me out of Egypt.’” (Exodus 13:8)
