"WE ARE THINKING ABOUT STARTING A NEW CHURCH"

Healthy cells reproduce themselves. Healthy people reproduce themselves. Healthy churches reproduce themselves.

The Lexington Baptist Association plants churches based on the belief that “churches start churches”. However, the idea for starting a new church in a particular community or for a specific people group may come from any number of sources – including individuals, existing churches, associations, or the denomination.

If you or your church is considering the possibility of starting a new church and would like assistance with understanding the concept, contact the Lexington Baptist Association at (803) 356-2543 to arrange a LBA Steps to Church Planting consultation.

Development

“HOW DO WE START?”

The way you start is often the way you finish. Good planning is essential to a healthy start of a new church.

The Lexington Baptist Association excitedly awaits the opportunity to meet with existing churches to discuss the possibility of a new church. Experienced church planters are available to meet with your church mission committee to share an overview of “Steps to Planting a New Church”.

If you or your church is considering the possibility of starting a new church and would like assistance with the development, please contact the Lexington Baptist Association at (803) 356-2543 to arrange a “LBA STEPS TO CHURCH PLANTING” consultation.

Location

“WHERE ARE NEW CHURCHES NEEDED?”

Location. Location. Location. Three important words for every Acts 1:8 church.

The Lexington Baptist Association has conducted extensive research to determine unreached population segments, people groups, and ethnic/cultural clusters in and around the Lexington Metro region. The location of the new church will be determined by the unreached target group.

If you or your church is considering the possibility of starting a new church and would like assistance with the location, please contact the Lexington Baptist Association at (803) 356-2543 to arrange a “LBA STEPS TO CHURCH PLANTING” consultation.

Vision

“GOD IS CALLING US (ME) TO START A NEW CHURCH”

Do not move any further in the church planting process until God gives you a vision for the new church. “Without a vision, the people perish.” Proverbs 28:19

Planting a new church is hard work. It is only for those willing to make a high commitment of time, energy, and resources. Church planting is not for the weak or faint-hearted. The vision of the planter and planting church to reach an unchurched people is imperative and must be communicated early in the planting journey.

If you or your church is considering the possibility of starting a new church and would like assistance with understanding vision, please contact the Lexington Baptist Association at (803) 356-2543 to arrange a “LBA STEPS TO CHURCH PLANTING” consultation.
